HEAVY VEHICLE ACCREDITATION
Heavy Vehicle Accreditation is mandatory in Western Australia for individuals and organisations which:
- operate a B-double or road train; or
- operate a truck and trailer at over 42.5 tonnes gross mass; or
- operate under a concessional loading scheme; or
- require an annual oversize vehicle permit or notice; or
- require more than 4 single permits
and perform the transport task as a part of a commercial business or other money-making enterprise. This includes interstate operators.
The website below gives details of guidelines and forms including the Accreditation Business Rules which provide the rules and conditions of Western Australian Heavy Vehicle Accreditation including fatigue and maintenance management modules.
It is a requirement that a maintenance and fatigue management system is in place which “is being used and adheres to the standards relevant to a module or group of modules”. The following link gives more details, including an on-line assessment. If you answer more than 85% of the questions you will receive an on-line certificate from WorkSafe.
